Lion City Dance Film Festival

With the onset of the circuit breaker in 2020 and subsequent Safety Management Measures, dance artists in Singapore have explored new ways to express and present their works. Innovating and recalibrating the possibilities of showcasing their crafts digitally, more care and thought has been put into the videography and editing aspects in order to show visually-stunning works on Instagram and Youtube. Digital dance competitions and festivals were held internationally, and two Singaporean submissions were selected by the international movement film festival Project HOMESCREEN for Best Short Film and Official Selection.

Seeing the potential of the digital medium and assured of the capacity of the practitioners, we have organised the Lion City Dance Film Festival to further stimulate the dance and film communities. The submissions will be judged based on the dance (in terms of quality and choreography) as well as cinematography.

This film festival is open to local dance and film practitioners.
